PATIENTS DURING RAMADAN

Can I use an Inhaler during fasting?
There is mixed opinion on this, some scholars say that the use of inhalers will invalidate the fast and this must be made up later, while other scholars state that this is permissible as it is not eating or drinking, or providing nutrition.

If you are requiring your inhalers often and are unwell, you would be exempt from fasting anyway. It may be possible to change the inhalers to longer-acting varieties if you do not wish to use their inhaler whilst fasting. For further advice, you should contact your local Imam.

Can I swim whilst fasting?
Yes, but avoid swallowing the water.

Can I have a blood test?
Yes, both finger prick and intravenous tests do not invalidate the fast

Can I have a blood transfusion whilst fasting?
No, in this case you would be considered too unwell to fast

Can I fast if I am on antibiotics?
If you are unwell and require antibiotics regularly throughout the day then you would be exempt from fasting, and should make up your fasts at a later date when well.

If the antibiotics are for e.g. acne you may fast and take your antibiotics either before the pre-dawn meal or after the sunset meal.

Do breastfeeding women have to fast?
No, Islamic law exempts women from fasting whilst breastfeeding and they can make these up at a later date.

Can I smoke during fasting?
No, smoking is not permitted. Ramadan is an excellent time to give up smoking and support can be offered at this time.

Can I take tablets, drops, injections or patches whilst fasting?
Tablets are not permitted during the fast. If you do take medications during the day, it is worth consulting with your Doctor to see if your medication regime may be amended

Eye and ear drops are permissible, provided your eardrum has not burst.

Vaginal pessaries and any form of skin patches e.g. Nicotine, are permissible

Rectal suppositories are not allowed

Nasal sprays are not allowed

Injections (IV, IM, SC, epidural) are all permissible, provided they are not for nutritional benefit

Can I fast whilst having dialysis?
Such patients are not advised to fast, and in these cases as they will not be able to fast at a later date, Islamic law states they must give to charity instead, and should consult an Islamic scholar for further advice.

Do nose bleeds invalidate a fast?
No, and if this happens patients do not have to make any fasts up. The fast can only become invalid if such a large amount of bleeding occurs and the patient swallows it.

Can I use mouthwash/gargles
Yes provided nothing is swallowed, it is advisable to rinse the mouth with water following use of these, and to avoid if possible.

Can I have immunisations?
Yes, childhood immunisations and vaccines for travel do not invalidate a fast

Can I use creams and ointments?
Yes, anything where the medication is absorbed through the skin is permissible

Can I use the pill so I do not have a period during Ramadan?
Yes. However, this should be discussed with your Doctor, as depending on which pill you may get some breakthrough pill.

It is also important to remember that Islamic law states that women should not fast when menstruating, and can make the fasts up at a later date.

Can I fast if I have Diabetes or other medical conditions?
The answer to this will vary on the severity of your condition. The safest plan is to discuss your condition and medicine regime with your Doctor who will be able to advise accordingly.

If patients have further queries they should contact their local Imam

Five Pillars of Islam

Islam has five primary obligations, or pillars of faith, that each Muslim must fulfil in his or her lifetime. They are as follows:

Shahadah
The profession of faith is the first pillar of Islam. Muslims bear witness to the oneness of God by reciting the creed “There is no God but God and Muhammad is the Messenger of God.” This simple yet profound statement expresses a Muslim’s complete acceptance of and total commitment to Islam.

Salah
Prayer is the second pillar. The Islamic faith is based on the belief that individuals have a direct relationship with God. The world’s Muslims turn individually and collectively to Makkah, Islam’s holiest city, to offer five daily prayers at dawn, noon, mid-afternoon, sunset and evening. In addition, Friday congregational service is also required. Although salah can he performed alone, it is meritorious to perform it with another or with a group. It is permissible to pray at home, at work, or even outdoors; however it is recommended that Muslims perform salah in a mosque.

Zakat
Almsgiving is the third pillar. Social responsibility is considered part of one’s service to God; the obligatory act of zakat enshrines this duty. Zakat prescribes payment of fixed proportions of a Muslim’s possessions for the welfare of the entire community and in particular for its neediest members. It is equal to 2.5 per cent of an individual’s total net worth, excluding obligations and family expenses.

Sawm
Fasting during the holy month of Ramadan is the fourth pillar of Islam. Ordained in the Holy Qur’an, the fast is an act of deep personal worship in which Muslims seek a richer perception of God. Fasting is also an exercise in self-control whereby one’s sensitivity is heightened to the sufferings of the poor. Ramadan, the month during which the Holy Qur’an was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad, begins with the sighting of the new moon, after which abstention from eating, drinking and other sensual pleasures is obligatory from dawn to sunset. Ramadan is also a joyful month. Muslims break their fast at sunset with a special meal, iftar, perform additional nocturnal worship, tarawih, after evening prayer; and throng the streets in moods that are festive and communal. The end of Ramadan is observed by three days of celebration called Eid Al-Fitr, the feast of the breaking of the fast. Customarily, it is a time for a family reunion and the favoured holiday for children who receive new clothing and gifts.

Hajj
The pilgrimage to Makkah is the fifth pillar and the most significant manifestation of Islamic faith and unity in the world. For those Muslims who are physically and financially able to make the journey to Makkah, the Hajj is a once in a lifetime duty that is the peak of their religious life. The Hajj is a remarkable spiritual gathering of over two million Muslims from all over the world to the holy city. In performing the Hajj, a pilgrim follows the order of ritual that the Prophet Muhammad performed during his last pilgrimage.

The five pillars of Islam define the basic identity of Muslims – their faith, beliefs and practices – and bind together a worldwide community of believers into a fellowship of shared values and concerns.

We are Ahl as-Sunnat Wal Jama’at

1. The Ahl as-Sunnat Wal Jama’at is the largest group of Muslims and the only group whose beliefs and teachings are truly in accordance with the Noble Qur’an and Sunnah of the Most Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam).

2. The beliefs of this group are the same as the beliefs of the Sahaba or Noble Companions of the Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam) and the Self-e-Saliheen (our great pious predecessors).

3. In many Ahadith, the Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) strongly advised the Muslims to follow his Sunnah and to remain steadfast upon the path of his Sahaba, the Salf-e-Saliheen and the majority of Muslims to remain steadfast upon the way of the Ahl-as-Sunnah.

4. The Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “I have left two things behind me for you (the Ummah). You will never go astray as long as you follow these two things. One of these two things is Allah’s Holy Book (the Qur’an al-Kareem) and the other is the Sunnah of his Most Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam).” (Muwatta Imam Malik).

5. The Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said that after he passes away his Ummah should remain firmly steadfast upon his Sunnah and upon the way of his four Muslim Caliphs. He advised us to follow this Path alone and to be beware of innovations, which contradict the Nobel Qur’an and his Sunnah. (Abu Dawud; Tirmizi).

6. The Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Follow the way of the largest group of Muslims! For, he who deviates from this group will be thrown into Hell!” (Ibn Majah).

REMAINING WITH THE AHL AS-SUNNAH WAL JAMA’AH

1. The Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) advised us to remain firm with the largest group of Muslims and remain steadfast upon their way in beliefs and in actions.

2. The Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Allah will never allow my Ummah to unite upon misguidance and incorrect beliefs. Allah’s mercy, blessings and protection are with the largest group of Muslims. And he who deviates from this largest group of Muslims will be thrown into Hell.” (Tirmizi).

3. The Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said:
“He who deviates from the largest group of Muslims, even as much as a hand span, has himself cut off his connection with Islam”. (Abu Dawud).

ABSTAINING FROM MISGUIDED GROUPS

1. The Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) clearly warned his Ummah to completely abstain from joining in the gatherings of or listening to the words of any of the other misguided groups that will appear amongst the Muslims, whose beliefs will contradict the beliefs of the largest group of Muslims.

2. The beliefs of the largest group of Muslims will be in accordance with the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) the beliefs of the Sahaba and the Self-e-Saliheen.

3. The Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: ” In the period prior to the Day of Judgement, false and deceitful groups will emerge. They will say things to you, which neither you nor your forefathers will have ever heard before. Stay away from these deceitful people and do not let them come near you! Do not be misguided by them and do not let them cause strife amongst you!” (Sahih Muslim).

DIVISIONS AMONG THE UMMAH

1. The concept of the Muslim nation separating into 73 sects, is taken from authentic Ahadith such as the following related by Hadrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu):“
The Messenger of Allah (Salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: ‘The Jews separated into 71 sects, and the Christians into 72, and my nation will divide into 73 sects.’” (Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah).

2. The Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Seventy-two (of the 73 sects of the Muslim nation) will be in the fire, and only one will be in Paradise; it is the Jama’ah (i.e. Ahl-as Sunnah Wa Jamaah).” (Abi Dawud, Ad-Darimi, Ahmad).

3. There is another narration which states:
”The Companions asked: ‘Which sect will triumph (i.e. achieve salvation)?’ The Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) replied: ‘The sect which adheres to that (set of beliefs and practices) which I and my Companions adhere to.’”

4. It should be clear from these Ahadith that the one sect, out of the 73, which is to gain salvation, is the Ahl-as Sunnah Wa Jamaah, the only segment of the Muslim community which adheres to that which the Beloved Prophet (Salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) and his Companions (radi Allahu anhum) adhered to.

OPINION OF GREAT SCHOLARS AND SAINTS
1. Ghawth-al A’zam, Hadrat Shaykh Abd’al Qadir al-Jilani (radi allahu anhu) states: “There are 73 groups as foretold by Sayyiduna Rasoolallah (Salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam) and (bear in mind that), the Ahl as-Sunnat wal Jama’at was the rightful group”. (Ghunyatut Taalibeen).

2. Imam al-Ghazzali (radi Allahu anhu) writes:
“The Ahl as-Sunnat Wal Jama’at is the successful Firqah (group) and it is this Firqa which weighs or determines its thoughts and its according to the scales of the Noble Qur’an”. (Mujarribaate Imam Ghazal).

3. Hadrat Shah Wali’ullah Muhaddith Dehlawi (radi Allahu anhu) states: “As Rasulallah (Salla Allahu alaihi wa Sallam) has stated, follow this ‘Sawad al-A’zam’, and when the four Madhabs are within the Sawad al-A’zam then the following of any one of them, is followance of the Sawad al-A’zam. Therefore, refuting any one of them is refuting the Sawad al-A’zam”. (Aqdul Jayyad).

4. Imam Sufyan Souri (radi Allahu anhu) states,
“By Sawad al- A’zam is meant those who are called the Ahl as-Sunnah W’al Jama’ah”. (Al Mizaanul Qubra).

5. Shah Abdul Aziz Muhaddith Dehlawi (radi Allahu anhu) states in his book “Fatawa Azeezi” (Vol. 2, pg. 4) that:
“The various parts of the Ahl as-Sunnat Wal Jama’at in Aqaa’id such as the Ash’ariya, the Maaturadi, in Fiqh such as the Hanifa, the Shafi’i,the Hambali, in Tasawwaf such as the Qaderi, the Chisti, Naqshabandi, the Suhurwardi, this servant considers all of them to be the truth”.

6. Imam Rabbani, Mujaddid Alif Thaani (radi allahu anhu) states in the second chapter, page 67 of his “Maktubaat Shareef” that: “The way of salvation is followance of the Ahl as-Sunnat Wal Jama’at. May Almighty Allah Ta’ala bestow blessings upon the Ahle Sunnat Wal Jama’at, in their speech, in their actions, laws, for this is the successful group.

Besides this, all other groups have become victims of deception. Today, nobody realises how much these misled groups will be punished, however, on the Day of Qiyamah this secret will become apparent. Even though at that time this knowledge will be of no benefit to the misled.”

Jamia Mosque Al-Mustafa Redhill is taking a balanced approach to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

We are taking precautions to minimise the risk of infection to users of the Mosque but are aware that the virus will inevitably be spreading over the coming weeks.

We have implemented the government’s advice on prevention including avoiding shaking hands, washing hands regularly and using antiseptic hand gel.

We have made hand gel available around the mosque and increased the frequency and depth of cleaning schedules.

We have advised elderly users and those with elderly relatives to avoid congregational prayers, especially on Fridays. Signs have been placed around the mosque to advise our patrons of these precautions.

As Muslims, we routinely wash five times a day before prayers and we are now also encouraging the use of antiseptic gel.

We have not cancelled Friday congregational prayers in line with current official policy but are monitoring the situation and awaiting further guidance from the government.

Press Release: Vaccine Guidance

In the last 24 hours over 22,000 people have tested positive for the virus, over 600 people have died and over 3500 people have been admitted into the hospital due to the virus in the UK. The situation is dire, and the NHS is cracking under pressure. Doctors nationwide are emphasising the life-threatening nature of the new strains of the virus, and strongly urge individuals to take all government and medical guidance seriously.

As Masjid, we hold a position of responsibility when it comes to providing our community with sound Islamic guidance. We have witnessed the brutality of this virus in the number of funerals we managed over the first lockdown last year, and now worry as we witness the number of funerals begin to increase once again. We remain in close contact with key medical professionals, public health officials and other mosques on a weekly basis to monitor the situation and provide guidance to our community. We are not in a position to instruct individuals on personal decisions they choose to make in relation to their health, however, it is our duty to ensure that our community are acting in a way that is mature, responsible and in line with the teachings of the Salaf (our rightly guided predecessors).

Here are 6 points to consider about the vaccine from an Islamic standpoint:
  1. The preservation of life is one of the core objectives of Islamic law (maqasid ash shariah) and Islam. Allah (swt) says in the Quran, ‘And if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the whole of mankind’. [5:32].
  2. We have an obligation to take every step possible to ensure that lives are saved, and the public is safe.
  3. The Prophet (peace be upon him) instructed us to make use of medical treatments. ‘Make use of medical treatment, for Allah (swt) has not made a disease without appointing a remedy for it.’ (Abu Dawud).
  4. As Muslims, we are instructed to consult the experts before making decisions in areas we hold no knowledge in.
‘Ask the people of knowledge, if you do not know.’ [21:7].
  5. The true Healer is Allah the Almighty. ‘Oh Allah you are the Curer. There is no cure except through You. Cure (him or her), a cure that leaves no disease].’ (Bukhari).
  6. Spreading misinformation and conspiracy theories is not allowed in Islam.

Through regular consultation with Imams, experts and professionals, we are looking into the measures we can take at every stage to protect our community (both Muslims and non-Muslims). We hope to continue to serve our community to the best of our ability, as we have sincerely tried to throughout this pandemic. As a masjid, we urge Muslims to make fact-based decisions that are supported by experts and to share guidance that is sensible and protective to society as a whole.

Keeping the Beard http://redhillmosque.co.uk/keeping-beard/ Mon, 02 Nov 2020 09:10:00 +0000 https://nauthemes.com/wp/tabligh/?p=196 Beard (Shaving) Imaam Bukhari (Radhiallaahu Anhu) reports on the authority of Naafi’ who narrates from Abdullah ibn Umar (Radhiallaahu Anhu) that Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) said, ‘Oppose the Mushrikeen (polytheists); lengthen the beard and trim the moustache.’ Naafi’ further states, ‘And ibn Umar (Radhiallaahu Anhu) during Hajj or Umrah used […]

Beard (Shaving)

Imaam Bukhari (Radhiallaahu Anhu) reports on the authority of Naafi’ who narrates from Abdullah ibn Umar (Radhiallaahu Anhu) that Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) said, ‘Oppose the Mushrikeen (polytheists); lengthen the beard and trim the moustache.’

Naafi’ further states, ‘And ibn Umar (Radhiallaahu Anhu) during Hajj or Umrah used to hold on to his beard with his fist and cut off whatever was in excess of that.’ (Bukhari vol.2 pg.875; Kitaab-ul-Libaas)

Through this Hadith, the verdict of the growing of the beard being Waajib (obligatory) is deduced. That is because any explicit command of Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) will be regarded as Waajib, if there is no apparent, clear reason/proof which states that that particular command is for Istihbaab (preference). This is an established fact in Usool-ul-Fiqh (principles of jurisprudence).

Moreover, the Wujoob is further emphasized by the fact that Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) did practice this in his entire life. Know well that Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) did not trim his beard in his life (there is no Sahih Hadith which proves otherwise). However, because the narrator himself (Ibn Umar (Radhiallaahu Anhu) did trim his beard up to a fist’s length, this implies that the Wujoob of keeping a beard is up to a fist length only.

Furthermore, such has also been reported from Abu Hurayra (Radhiallaahu Anhu) and other Taabi’een. (Tamheed of ibn Abdul-Barr and Fathul Baari). Therefore, the meaning of our statement that you question is, ‘If any person has trimmed his beard up to less than one fist, then his beard will not be a Shar’ee beard.’

Lastly, for your knowledge, the sayings and actions of the Sahaaba (Radhiallaahu Anhum) is a Hujjah (proof) according to the majority of the scholars. However, the conditions for acceptance may differ. This is also an established principle in Usool-ul-Fiqh. Hence, the refutation of a Shar’ee beard by the scholar you have mentioned does not hold any weight in front of the Shar’ee proof we have mentioned and Allah Ta’ala and Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam Knows Best.

Male Head Hair

It is established from the Sunnah that the longest Nabi (Salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) kept his hair was till his shoulders. This permissible and is in fact Sunnah. However to allow the hair to grow so long that it resembles a female’s hair is not permissible.

Dyeing Of Hair

To apply pure black dye is not permissible. Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Álayhi Wasallam) said, “There will be people who will come later (in my Ummah) and apply black dye. They will not even smell the fragrance of paradise.” (Abu Daawood). However, it is permissible for a Mujaahid (warrior) to apply black dye in order to give the impression of being young.

It is also permissible for one to dye his/hair black to beautify himself/herself for ones marriage partner if he/she is young, and the hair has turned grey due to some sickness, etc.

To dye the hair any other colour besides black e.g. Mehndi or Katm (type of grass) is permissible. This was the practice of Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Álayhi Wasallam) and the Sahaaba (Radhiyallaahu Ánhum) and Allah Ta’ala Knows Best.

Rules Concerning Hair
  1. It is Sunnah to grow one’s hair on the entire head till the ear lobes or slightly below them. If a person wishes to shave his head, it is Sunnah to shave the entire head. It is also permissible to merely clip the hair. However, it is not permissible to clip all the hair and leave the front portion long, as is fashion today. Similarly, it is also not permissible to shave a portion and leave another portion long. From this, we deduce that it is not permissible to sport the Babri hairstyle (or to cut the hair in the shape of a cap or to shape the front part of the hair).
  2. If the hair has been lengthened considerably, it is not permissible to tie it into a tail like women.
  3. It is haram for women to shave the head or clip the hair on the head. The Hadith has cursed such women.
  4. It is Sunnah to clip the moustache to such an extent that it is clipped to the skin. There is a difference of opinion with regard to shaving the moustache. According to some, it is a bid’ah, while others have permitted it. Caution demands that one does not shave it.
  5. It is permissible to lengthen the moustache on the sides on the condition that the area above the lips is not lengthened.
  6. It is harâm to shave or clip the beard. However, it is permissible to clip it if it is longer than the length of one fist. Similarly, it is permissible to clip it on all the sides in such a way that it becomes neat and straight (provided it is beyond one fist).
  7. It is permissible to clip the hair and straighten the hairline that grows on the cheeks. Similarly, it is also permissible to straighten and cut the eyebrows a wee bit.
  8. The hair on the throat should not be shaven. However, it has been related to Abû Yûsuf rahmatullâhi ‘alayh that there is no harm in this.
  9. Shaving the hair of the lower lip is regarded as a bid’ah by the jurists. Therefore this should not be done. Similarly, they have said that it is makruh to remove the hair that is on the nape of the neck.
  10. It is not permissible to pluck out grey hairs merely for the purposes of beautification. However, it is better for the mujâhidîn to do so in order to instil fear and awe in the hearts of the enemy.
  11. The hair of the nose should not be tweezed out. Instead, it can be clipped.
  12. It is permissible to remove the hair that is on the chest and back. However, it is not good to do so.
  13. It is preferable for men to remove the hair of the pubic region from just below the navel onwards. When shaving, they should commence from below the navel. It is also permissible to use sulphurate of arsenic and other preparations (such as hair-removing creams, etc.) to remove the hair of the pubic region. As for women, the sunnah method is that they should remove the hair of the pubic region by pinching it out or tweezing it out and that they should not use a shaving machine.
  14. It is preferable to remove the hair of the armpits by tweezing them. However, it is permissible to shave them.
  15. As for the hair of the balance of the body, it is permissible to shave it or retain it.
  16. It is also a sunnah to clip the nails of the feet. However, it is mustahabb for the person who is engaged in jihad not to clip his moustache and nails.
  17. It is preferable to clip the fingernails in the following order:
  18. commence with the index finger of the right hand until you reach the little finger. Thereafter, commence with the little finger of the left hand until you reach the thumb of the left hand. Thereafter, complete by clipping the thumb of the right hand. As for the toenails, commence with the little toe of the right foot and end with the little toe of the left foot. This is the preferable method. However, it is permissible to clip in any way that may be
  19. contrary to this method.
  20. Clipped nails and hair should be buried. If they are not buried, they should at least be kept in a safe place. However, they should not be kept in any impure, dirty place as there is the fear of falling ill.
  21. It is not good to bite the fingernails as this is a cause of leprosy.
  22. It is makruh to trim the hair, clip the nails and remove pubic hair while one is in a state of impurity.
  23. It is preferable to remove the pubic hair, hair of the arm-pits, nails, to have a bath and cleanse oneself at least once a weak. It is best to do all this on a Friday before going for the Jumu’ah salât. If one cannot do this on a weekly basis, he should carry it out every fortnight. If not, at least every forty days. There is no concession beyond forty days. If forty days expire and the person does not carry out the above, he will be committing a sin.
Women

Plucking, Trimming and Cutting of eyebrow is haram whereas other parts of the body like hands, legs, face etc are permissible.

According to the Sunnah of the Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Álayhi Wasallam)every adult Muslim, as a part of keeping his/her body clean, should remove the hair on his pubic area and that, which grows under his armpits. This hair may be removed through any method that one feels comfortable with. A person should not let this hair grow for more than (around) forty days, as has been reported in a number of narratives ascribed to the Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Álayhi Wasallam).

The ultimate objective of all Islamic teachings is to cleanse the human body, soul and mind. According to the Qur’an, only those people shall qualify for the everlasting bliss in the hereafter, who try to cleanse themselves during the life of this world. Your question pertains to that part of Islamic teachings that relate to the cleansing of the human body and therefore requires a cautious attitude on our part.

Black Magic IS Haram
All power belongs to The Most Beneficent & Most Merciful ALLAH SWT…

It is NOT Magic in most cases?

We tend to put all the blame for any misfortune/problem on other people & most conveniently on magic. Instead of looking at our sins & other reasons we immediately accept any suggestion (from anybody at all), that someone has done something to us. Islam does NOT permit us to make such as symptoms about other people especially for Muslims, mu’mins & more so for one’s own relatives. In 99% of cases we only incorrectly assume that magic has affected us & it may be true in a very rare case.

What is magic & soothsaying

Magic generally includes:-

a)writing & reciting some special chants & spells, burning of particular objects

b) Making a picture, blowing, tying knots, burying special objects in particular places so that the person for whom it is intended is affected eg; located, put to sleep, made ill etc

c) bringing about some unnatural events by means of charms, amulets or talisman or potions

Soothsaying is fortune-telling, going to people (pir, babas etc) for predictions, involving Jinn or spirits for non-natural events some scholars equate it with Magic.

Islamic View

Magic is unconditionally & absolutely haram/prohibited. A gunahane Kabira (greater sin) leading to Hell fire. A person who indulges in magic & does not repent is punishable by Death in an Islamic society, as it is equivalent to shirk & severely criticised in many ahadith

It is haram to learn, teach, perform magic & indulge in soothsaying. (for any cause whatsoever). It is also haram to go to soothsayers (pairs & babas & magicians)& act on their advice. Earnings from magic & payments to magicians also come under the haram category..

Magic is evil

The starting point of Magic involves physical disrespect to the Quran in many cases!

The sorcerer discontinues all good actions & concentrates on performing satanic rituals, committing adultery, drinking blood etc. These acts bring the magician close to Satan so that he is helped in his magic. Obviously the closer to Satan a man is the further he is from any kind of truth & Islam.

How to protect against Magic

1. -Have faith in Allah swt & rely on HIM & his chosen people
2. -Understand & realise that the Magicians power is evil & very limited
3. -Try to be with wuzoo all the time
4. -Regularly recite Sura Falaq & Sura Nass as much as possible.-
5. -Give sadqa/charity (alms)
6. -Invoke Allah swt thru duas (see Oddatul Daee book*)
7. -Consult an Alim for help in case of need.

Death of a Muslim

When the time of death for a Muslim is close the Angel, Hazrat Izraeel, comes down with a thousand other Angels the faces of whom shine like the sun. They come and sit next to him. With them, they bring silk clothes from Heaven and Heavenly perfumes for the person who is close to his death. Hazrat Izraeel (alayhi salaam) comes closer to the person and says:

Oh soul comes out of that body, your lord is pleased with you. Shortly after that, the soul leaves the body, the Angel dress the soul in Heavenly silk clothes and put on the perfumes. The Angel then take the soul to the sky, and the groups of Angel which they pass them will know that it is a soul of a good believer, they will say to the soul “Welcome holy-soul you have been obedient to Allah and Allah is pleased with you.”

Meanwhile, the Angels take the soul to the first level of the sky and knock on the door and the Angel inside ask. “Who is it?” The Angel outside reply: “We have brought a good person’s soul.”

The Angel inside open the doors to welcome the soul. The soul is then taken to the second level of the sky, and in the same manner, the soul keeps travelling with the Angel until it reaches the seventh level. The Angel then leave the soul on the seventh level where it goes to a place called Il-li-yeen.

Illiyeen is the place where all good Muslim souls are gathered after death. The soul is asked questions by the souls who are already there, they ask about their families back on earth: “How are they? What are they doing?” Some old souls will ask about such and such a person, the new soul will say, “Hasn’t he come to you?” The old soul replies, “No, he must have been thrown into Hell.”

After all the talking one of the old soul says: “Let him rest now he is very tired”. The soul returns to his body at the time of burial, then the Questioning starts.

At the time of burial, the soul of the dead person is going to be in Illy-yeen or in Sij-jeen. After the body has been buried, the soul returns to the body in the grave. Two Angels, called Munkar and Nakeer, arrive at the grave to question the dead person their first question is:

  • WHO IS YOUR LORD”?
  • MY LORD IS ALLAH (SUBHANA WA TA’ALA)” replies the believer.
  • WHAT IS YOUR RELIGION”?
  • MY RELIGION IS ISLAM” replies the believer.

Then the dead person is shown the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) and the two Angel ask: “WHO IS THIS MAN”? The believer will reply “THIS MAN IS PROPHET MUHAMMAD (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam)”
The Angel will then ask “HOW DO YOU KNOW”? “I READ THE BOOK OF ALLAH (SUBHANA WA TA’ALA) AND ACTED UPON IT”.

A voice will be heard: “This person is a true believer.” At this point the person’s grave bed will widen as far the eye can see. Light will appear in the grave and fresh air and heavenly perfume will come in the grave from a window opening into heaven. The person will be dressed in clothing from heaven and the Angel will order him to sleep. The person will rest in his grave until Yawm-ul-Qiyama (the day of judgement).

Then a handsome man, with clean clothes and with beautiful smells will come saying: “Be happy, This is the day Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) promised you.” The dead person will ask: “Who are you?” The man will say: “I am your good deeds”.

When all the questions have been asked the soul will be free to go back to Illiyeen. You must remember that every soul has contact with its body in the grave. A small example of that would be: If a person passing by the grave says salaam, the dead person answers the salaam even if he is in Illiyeen.

The Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said that when a person’s body is buried, he wakes up by rubbing his/her eyes. He/she will feel as though the sun is setting and say, ” leave me I want to read Asar Salaat.” Then the questioning will start.

The grave is not a pit into which dead bodies are thrown, but it is a door to a world where people go after death (Barzakh). It is the stage between death and the Day of Judgement. After death every soul is alive.

Non-believers will stay in imprisonment and will get punished, but a good Muslim’s soul is free and it could go anywhere he/she likes. For example, can perform Hajj, can appear in dreams of people who are still alive and can give them news and also go to people’s houses, however they are invisible.

Death of a Non-Believer

When a non-believer is close to death, Hazrat Izrael and thousands of other Angel come with darkened faces. They will have Clothes from hell and dirty smells from hell. Angel Izrael will approach the non-believer and say:
“Oh corrupt soul comes out, Allah is angry with you”. The soul with great difficulty leaves the body and will be dressed in the clothes from hell and the dirty smells of Hell will be put on him. The soul is then taken to the sky and on the way all the Angel who goes past, curse it.

When the Angels knock on the door of the first level of the sky, the Angel inside reply “Throw him in SIJJEEN” (Sijjeen is a place under the seven skies where all the soul of non-believers wait). The soul is thrown into Sijjeen and the souls who are already there can not talk, because they are in their own punishment.

The soul is then taken back to his body at the time of burial and the questioning starts in the same way. When the questioning is done, the soul returns to Sijjeen and it still has contact with its body. When a non-believer is buried, the same questions will be asked to the non-believer:

  • “WHO IS YOUR LORD”?
  • “I DON’T KNOW” replies the non-believer.
  • “WHAT IS YOUR RELIGION”
  • “I DON’T KNOW”. replies the non-believer

Then the dead person will be then be shown the face of Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) and the two Angels will ask: “WHO IS THIS”? “I DO NOT KNOW” replies the non-believer.

The Angel will say: “He is a liar! put clothes of fire on Him, make Him a bed in hell and open the window of Hell for him”. Then facing the non-believer, the window of hellfire opens and hot air from hell enters the grave. The grave tightens and the Angel will hit the non-believer between the eyes with an iron bar.

If that iron bar hit a mountain in this world, the mountain would crumble like powder. Then the non-believer will scream in so much pain that everything from East to West will be able to hear the screams, all except human beings and Jinns. The second punishment will be the 99 poisonous snakes in the grave, which will not stop biting the person until the Day of Judgement. This is because he did not believe in Allah (subhana wa ta’ala).

Then an ugly looking man will come, who will smell disgusting and who will be wearing dirty clothes and say: “Be unhappy this is the day that Allah (subhana wa ta’ala) promised you. You will suffer in agony until the Day of Judgement”. The person from the grave will ask: “Who are you” The man will reply: “I am your bad deeds”
QUESTION People who have tragic deaths like being burnt or drowned in the sea or get eaten by an animal. Where do they go for questioning?

ANSWER After the soul returns from Illyeen or Sijjeen, the soul enters the spine and the person is ready for questioning. The grave of a person is where the spine is, even if it is in the stomach of the whale. The soul enters the spine of the body. As there are always pieces of spine left even if it is in the ashes or in the stomach of a whale.
In the grave, all the body rots away except the spine because on the day of Judgement the bodies will rise from it. But the prophets and the pious people, their body do not rot away as a normal person’s body does.

Let us start with the Islamic greetings as it is mentioned in the Old, New, and Final testament.

Salamun Alaykum – Peace be unto you (says Qur’an 6:54, and that Allah is Himself Peace, see: 59:23), Sholom Aleichem as Jews accept to say (God is Peace, See: Judges 6:24) and as Jesus used to often say: Peace be unto you. [Book of Luke 24:36 (KJV), Rather the exact wording actually used by Jesus too was “shalom Aleichem” John 20:19, 21, 26]

Author’s Note: It is mostly Muslims who have kept this tradition alive and they say As-Salamu ‘alaykum every time they meet, whereas others (including Christians) are paying the opportunity cost of changing this into Hello, Hi, Hiya, and a more formal way of greeting starting as “Good morning (going up til Good night)” Saying Good morning to someone on a funeral for instance would be illogical or inappropriate, whereas the greeting with “Salam” is appropriate and soothing no matter what occasion or place we are at.

In the world we live in today, our dear Muslim faith called “al-Islam” has unfortunately become the most misunderstood faith out of all religions. The primary reason for this is constant anti Islamic propaganda or rhetoric, and also some unaware/ignorant Muslims who do not understand Islam itself and hence give fuel to bigotry against their own faith without realizing it. Some ignorant ones assume themselves to be the champions of Islam and with this pride they end up doing things which Islam never allowed them at first place (Hadith proves that, Pride and Faith cannot mix – Sahih Bukhari)

We are making this post on rights which Islam gives to non-Muslims because currently our world is going through a very delicate phase as was already told by Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) when he said, that near the hour there would be a lot of killing. The Prophet (Peace be upon him) rather analyzed this present situation very deeply about 1430+ Years ago

The Hadith: The Killer would not know why he killed and the one who got killed would not know why he was killed [Two most authentic books of hadith i.e. Sahih Bukhari and Muslim Hadith # 1356 in the latter]

We would like to write a commentary on this hadith and also go slightly off the topic so that when we come back, we have proper understanding of context of why this world has become such a bad place to live and why Islam is deliberately made to be misunderstood the most?

This hadith pretty much solves the problems faced by modern world today, the wars which are led by big countries upon smaller ones (Big fish eating small), but still putting the blame on the ones being mass murdered as always happened throughout history (Read Qur’an 2:11-12 to understand the ideology of state actors of terrorism), the pre-emptive full fledged genocides of people in Iraq and that too on false grounds of “Weapons of Mass destruction” (which were never found but rather had magical legs with which they ran into neighbouring countries for future reference). Hence in this context the above hadith clearly proves that the killer (any state actor of terrorism) does not know why it killed and the ones being killed do not know why they were being bombarded

Remember ignorance has become a norm in this world. It is spread on a wide scale and the biggest tool of ignorance is “Generalization” i.e. if some Muslim commits a crime then not only that person is to be blamed but rather all Muslims and Islam is to be attacked. We know for sure that Islam is not alone targeted but this blame has been put on other religions too, for example blame of crusades firmly lies upon Christianity, wars as mentioned in Old testament somehow depict the God of Moses as a war monger according to secularists and atheists.

The Muslims on the other hand are declared as terrorists by default in order to carry out the long term and wide scale terrorism upon them. Unlike what west wants to propagate that Muslim scholarship never speaks against terrorism, we want to clarify once again that Muslims do not consider Muslims to be infallible. We accept that there are “Ignorant” Muslims too who legitimize the lame western propaganda by committing crimes which Islam totally shuns in it’s primary sources.

Let us now see what Islam says about rights of non-Muslims.

Qur’an states: O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you”INTO NATIONS AND TRIBES” that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise (each other). Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the ”MOST RIGHTEOUS OF YOU” . And Allah has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things). [49:13]

This verse is a constitutional law for all nations ordained in Qur’an.

Qur’an states at another place: Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error: whoever rejects evil and believes in God hath grasped the most trustworthy hand- hold, that never breaks. And God heareth and knoweth all things. (2:256)

This above verse proves that If any Muslim forces a non-Muslim to accept Islam (let alone killing him due to difference in faith) then he is a blunt liar and transgressor because Qur’an forbids compelling others into faith at first place.

There is a whole chapter in Qur’an with the name of Al-Kafiroon (i.e. the disbelievers), some would assume straightaway that this chapter would have direct orders to kill all disbelievers at sight, but to their amazement let’s see what the chapter actually states:

109.1: Say: O disbelievers!

109.2: I worship not that which ye worship;

109.3: Nor worship ye that which I worship.

109.4: And I shall not worship that which ye worship.

109.5: Nor will ye worship that which I worship.

109.6: Unto you your religion, and unto me my religion.

[Translation by a revert from Christianity to Islam i.e. Marmaduke Pickthal]

This short chapter of Qur’an which has been shown in totality, proves beyond doubt that Islam prescribes right in it’s most holy scripture that everyone has freedom of religion and expression, without any if’s and but’s.

Some would argue by taking Quranic verses out of context like many anti Islamic propagandists claim that Quran advises in 2:191 to kill disbelievers wherever one may find them (One of the most widely spread hoaxes in the world). They while grossly misquoting such verses know for sure that they are not being honest in the approach by hiding other part of the same verse itself and also ignoring 1 verse before and 2 verses afterwards which prove the context to be in regards to Battlefield only. Plus fighting was permitted against those disbelievers who had broken the treaties, initiated the fight, driven Muslims out of their own homeland, and committed worst barbarism upon Muslims.

The amount of importance and respect given to minorities in Islam is unimaginable when we read these following words of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him), these words are so strong that If Muslims do not follow them then there is a chance of them having a total loss in their own faith.

The Prophet of Mercy said: Beware! Whosoever oppresses a Muahid (i.e. Non-Muslim living in Muslim land with agreement) or snatches (any of) his rights or causes him pain which he cannot bear, or takes anything from him without his permission, Then “I WILL FIGHT AGAINST SUCH A (MUSLIM) ON THE DAY OF JUDGEMENT” [Sunnan Abu Dawud, Volume No. 3, Page No. 170, Hadith No. 3052]

I.E. the Prophet (Peace be upon him) will be a lawyer against such a Muslim, hence no sane Muslim should expect to win the case when the lawyer against him shall be none other than Muhammad (Peace be upon him) the law giver himself.

This is not just an advice but a “LAW” in Islamic Jurisprudence.

In another hadith the Prophet (Peace be upon him) is more explicit, he said: If any Muslim killed a Muahid (i.e. non-Muslim living in Muslim land with agreement) then he (Muslim) shall not even smell the fragrance of Paradise although the fragrance of Paradise would have been perceived from the distance of travelling for 40 years [Sahih Bukhari, Volume No. 3, Hadith # 2995]

“Christians allowed to pray inside the Prophetic Mosque which is the most holy place after Mecca (a part from Prophetic grave which is more holier than even Ka’ba and Throne) ”

Hadith: Once a delegation of Christians comprising of 14 members came to Madina. The Prophet (Peace be upon him) made them stay in his mosque (i.e. Masjid an Nabwi) and he gave them permission to perform their worship in their own manner inside his Mosque. [Imam Ibn Sa’d in his Tabaqat al Kubra, Volume No. 1, Page No. 357]

The polytheists of Makkah had oppressed the Prophet (Peace be upon him) and his companions continuously to an extent that he and his companions remained expelled from their own homeland Makkah, however when Muslims won their freedom and went back to their homeland after a long and treacherous exile, a commander from Muslims exclaimed loudly:

Today is a day of revenge (fight), at this the Prophet (Peace be upon him) became angry and said: Today is the day of open forgiveness, then he asked his enemies: How should I treat you today? They replied: We expect you to treat us Just like Prophet Joseph treated his wrongdoing brothers, the Prophet said in reply the same sentence which Joseph had said to his brothers: There is no questioning from you today and you are all free [Imam Ibn Hajr al-Asqalani, Fath ul Bari, Volume No. 8, Page No. 18]

The biggest enemy of Muslims at that time was Abu Sufyan, the Prophet (Peace be upon him) said: Whosoever takes shelter in “ABU SUFYAN’S HOUSE” is safe [Sahih Muslim, Volume No. 3, Hadith # 1780]

The west boasts about their so called wars for democracy, but they have never set such an example.

Abu Lahab against whom a whole Surah has been revealed in Qur’an, his two sons who used to cause a lot of pain to Prophet (Peace be upon him), they after conquest of Makkah took shelter behind curtains of Kaaba, the Prophet himself brought them out and forgave them [Imam Zayli, Nasb ar Raiya 3:336]

Whereas the legitimate leader of Libya i.e. Qaddafi was unjustly killed through the hands of American created rebels (although previously USA had failed to kill him by shooting missiles at his whereabouts, finally they realized that the most convenient and clever way to destabilize a whole Muslim country is by creating a civil war within)

The Prophet (Peace be upon him) said: To protect the rights (of non-Muslims) is amongst the primary duties of mine [Sunnan Baihaqi, Volume No. 8, Page No. 30]

Once a governor of Egypt punished a non-Muslim wrongly, the case was brought to the caliph of time i.e. Umar ibn ul Khattab (the second caliph of Islam), the Muslim governor was proven to be wrong, Umar the great (ra) told the non Muslim to punish the Egyptian governor in same fashion, after it Umar (ra) said: Since when have you considered people as your slaves? Although their mothers gave birth to them as free living people [Kanz ul Amaal, Volume No. 4, Page No. 455]

Quran states the ethics with which people could be invited towards Islam: Invite (all) to the Way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious: for thy Lord knoweth best, who have strayed from His Path, and who receive guidance. (16:125)

The decision of guidance or misguidance of someone is to be attributed to Allah as authority over it is only in His hands, even Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) was told by Allah (sometimes strictly) that his duty was only to convey the message.

Quran states: If it had been thy Lord’s will, they would all have believed,- all who are on earth! wilt thou then compel mankind, against their will, to believe?(10:99)

The Prophet (Salallaho alaihi wasalam) said: Najran (i.e. Christian land) and its leaders are assured the security from Allah and his Apostle. Their lives, their legislation, land, wealth, near and far away people, their worship places will be protected. No priest from his religious post, no officer of his official post shall be removed [Tabaqat Ibn Saad, Volume No. 1 Page No. 228]

As Muslims have to give “OBLIGATORY CHARITY” similarly the non-Muslims living in Muslim lands had to give Jiziya Tax, however Islam does not put this condition upon “POOR, OLD AND INCAPABLE” non Muslims.

It states in one of the leading book of Islamic Jurisprudence: If they are poor, old or suffering (from financial or physical ailments) to the extent that people from their own faith start giving them charity then the Law of Jiziya will be “LIFTED” from them and from Bayt ul Maal (Muslim house of wealth i.e. a bank) they will be helped instead but till the time they live in the Muslim land [Imam Abu Yusuf, Kitab al-Khiraaj, Page No. 155]

Quran states: Allah forbids you not, with regard to those who fight you not for (your) Faith nor drive you out of your homes, from dealing kindly and justly with them: for Allah loveth those who are just. (60:8)

Quran states: Surely Allah enjoins the doing of justice and the doing of good (to others) and the giving to the kindred, and He forbids indecency and evil and rebellion; He admonishes you that you may be mindful(16:90)

Peace!

Salat ut-Tasbih is authentically proven from many Hadiths which are Sahih/Hasan themselves or due to multiple chains which strengthen them overall. It has been the practice of real Salaf as-Saliheen plus great classical scholars held it in high esteem.

Proof # 1

Imam Tirmidhi (rah) has made a whole chapter title as “بابُ ما جَاءَ في صَلاةَ التسْبيحِ” which means: “Chapter in regards to what has been narrated about Salat ut Tasbih” and he brought under it many hadiths plus he also proved that many Salaf considered it as a virtuous act. I shall present some ahadith from his chapter along with authentication given by Wahabi scholar Zubair Ali Zai (so that Salafis are not left with excuses). Let us first look at explicit statement by Imam Tirmidhi (rah):

وقد رُوِيَ عنِ النبيِّ غيرُ حديثٍ في صلاةِ التسبيحِ ولا يصح منهُ كبيرُ شيءٍ.
وقد رَوَى ابنُ المباركِ وغيرُ واحدٍ من أهلِ العلمِ صلاةَ التسبيحِ وذكرُوا الفضلَ فيه.

Translation: Many hadiths are reported from the Prophet (Peace be upon him) on salat ut-Tasbih, but most of them are not sahih (meaning some are indeed Sahih) Ibn Mubarak (R.A) and many people of knowledge have narrated about salat ut tasbih and its virtues.-End Quote – [Jami Tirmidhi, Volume No.2, Page No. 509, Published by Dar ul Kutb al iLmiyyah, Beirut, Lebanon] Click Here for Scanned Page (166)

Shall I not benefit you?” He said, “Of course, O Messenger of Allah!” So, he said, “O Uncle! Pray four raka’at. recite in each raka’ah the Surah Fatiha and a Surah and when you have finished the recital, say (Allahu Akbar Wal Hamdulillah Wa Subhan Allah) fifteen times before making the ruku. Then go into the ruku and repeat them ten times. Then raise your head and say the words ten times. Then go into prostrations and repeat them ten times, and raise your head and say the words ten times. Then prostrate and say the words ten times, and (again) raise your head and repeat them ten times before you stand up. So, this is (in all) seventy five in each raka’ah and it three hundred in all four rak’at. Even if your sins are like the sand particles of Aalij, Allah will forgive them for you”. He ( Abbas (R.A) said, “O Messenger of Allah! Who can stand up for it every day?” He said, “If you cannot establish it every day, then observe it on Friday. And if you cannot do that every Friday then observe it every month”. And he did not cease to say that until he said, “Offer it once in a year”.

Imam al-Hakim (rah) has also made a whole chapter on “Salat ut-Tasbih” and after bringing under it many ahadith from different Sahaba he says:

وقد صحّت الرواية عن عبد الله بن عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله عنهما أن رسول الله علم ابن عمّه جعفر بن أبي طالب رضي الله عنه هذه الصلاة كما علّمها عمّه العباس رضي الله عنه.

Translation: This report is also authentically reported from Abdullah bin Umar bin Khattab (RA) that the Prophet (Peace be upon him) taught his Uncle Jafar bin Abi Talib (ra) just like he taught his uncle Abbas (RA)

He then says:

Translation: This chain is “SAHIH AND THERE IS NO GHUBAAR (DOUBT) ON IT” Another proof of it being sahih is that Scholars of hadith have “ USED IT” and also taught people for doing the same, this has been happening since the time of those following “Tabiyeen” This includes people like Abdullah bin Mubarak – Rahimuhullah Alaih. [Mustadrak al Hakim ala Sahihayn (1/464)]

Imam al-Hakim (rah) then says about Imam Ibn Mubarak (ra)

رواة هذا الحديث عن ابن المبارك كلهم ثقات أثبات ولا يتهم عبد الله أن يعلّمه ما لم يصح عنده سنده.

Translation: Those narrating this hadith from Ibn Mubarak are “ALL THIQA THABIT (UTTERLY TRUSTWORTHY)” and Ibn Mubarak cannot be accused that he preached something which was not sahih according to himself. [Mustadrak al Hakim ala Sahihayn (1/464)] Click Here for Scanned Page (172)

Imam al-Bayhaqi (rah) also narrated ahadith on Salat ut Tasbih and then says

وكان عبد الله بن المبارك يفعلها وتداولها الصالحون بعضهم من بعض وفيه تقوية للحديث المرفوع وبالله التوفيق

Translation: Salat-ut-Tasbeeh was the practice of Abdullah ibn al-Mubaarak and many pious predecessors of various eras. And this in fact lends strength to the Marfu hadith and Allah is best in giving Tawfiq.’ [al-Bayhaqi in Shu’ab ul Iman (1/427)] Click Here for Scanned Page (170)

Imam al Mundhiri (rah) said:

قال الحافظ: وقد رُوي هذا الحديث من طرق كثيرة، وعن جماعة من الصحابة وأمثلها حديث عكرمة هذا، وقد صححه جماعة منهم: الحافظ أبو بكر الآجريّ، وشيخنا أبو محمد عبد الرحيم المصري، وشيخنا الحافظ أبو الحسن المقدسي رحمهم الله تعالى

Translation: The Hafidh (i.e. Imam al-Mundhiri) said: This hadith is narrated through “MANY WAYS” and many Sahaba have narrated similar to the hadith of Akrama. It is also declared as “SAHIH BY JAMAAT” which includes scholars like: 1)Hafidh Abu Bakr al-Ajri, 2)My Sheikh Abu Muhammad Abdur Raheem al-Misri, 3) My Sheikh Abul Hasan al-Maqdisi – Rahimuhullah Ta’la [Targheeb wa Tarheeb (1/267)] Click Here for Scanned Page (171)

Imam Jalal ud-din Suyuti (RA):He has mentioned upto 20 great Muhaditheen who declared the ahadith on Salat ut-Tasbih as Authentic, such scholars include Hafidh Abu-Sa’eed al-Sam’ani, Hafidh Khateeb al-Baghdadi, Hafidh ibn Mandah, Imaam al-Subki, Imam ibn Salah, Imam Abu-Musa al-Madini, Hafidh al-Zarkashi and others. [Al Lalil Masnu’ah(2/42-44)]

Summary of the article is that Salat ut-Tasbeeh is a permissible rather highly recommended act of worship, which is taught by Prophet (Peace be upon him), practiced by Sahaba/Tabiyeen and strengthened by practise of great scholars.
